Hervey Bay

Longtail tuna in Platypus Bay, trevally on the deep reefs, coral trout, grassy sweetlip and grunter bream on the shallow reefs, school mackerel around the shipping beacons, grunter bream along the ledges in Sandy Straits, grunter bream at night and sand whiting during the day along the beaches from Burrum Heads to Urangan, sand crabs in the bay north of the Banks and threadfin salmon and mud crabs in the creeks.

Bass early morning on small shallow divers around the weed beds and during the day on hard bodies trolled to 30 feet along the old river bed.

Maroon Dam

Bass at dawn and dusk on small poppers, frog and cicada lures around the dam edges and during the day on small crank baits close to the timber and on 3-inch paddle tails along the drop offs.
