Hervey Bay

Grassy sweetlip, snapper, nannygai and cod on the inshore reefs, longtail and mack tuna in Platypus Bay, queenfish, flathead, school mackerel, longtail and mack tuna off the Urangan jetty, barramundi and threadfin salmon in the lower reaches of the rivers, sand crabs in the western bay and mud crabs in the creeks.

Rainbow Beach Offshore

Red emperor, pearl perch, tuskfish, spangled emperor and cobia about 15nm NE of Wide Bay Bar before the wind freshened.

Tin Can Bay

Flathead in the exposed drains in the Bay and Inlet, sand whiting on top of the tide in the clean water at the mouth of Kauri Creek and barramundi and mud crabs in the creeks. Please note that the Bay-to-Bay Yacht Race is being held tomorrow from 10 a.m.  Boats will be cruising from Tin Can Bay to Hervey Bay.  Please don’t fish in the channels so as to restrict their safe passage.

Noosa

Bream, whiting, trevally and flathead along the Tewantin reach of the Noosa River and mud crabs around Makepeace Island.

Flathead at the Noosa River mouth, bream and grunter bream in Woods Bay and mud crabs in the mid to lower reaches.

Coral trout, pearl perch, cobia and spanish mackerel at Sunshine Reef.

Snapper, coral trout, pearl perch, tuskfish and spanish mackerel at North and Sunshine Reefs.

Maroochydore

Sand whiting in the lower reaches of the Maroochy River, chopper tailor at the river mouth, flathead and trevally in the middle reaches and grunter bream in the creeks.

Mooloolaba

Spanish mackerel at Caloundra 12 Mile and the Barwon Banks, grassy sweetlip at Murphys and Currimundi Reefs, chopper tailor along the beaches, trevally and chopper tailor along the rock walls at the Mooloolah River mouth, bream, flathead and whiting in the lower reaches and mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Yellowtail king, cobia, trevally and cod at Murphys Reef and spanish mackerel on the Barwon Banks.

Caloundra

Spanish and school mackerel at Caloundra 3, 5 and 7 Mile, bream and tailor along Kawana Beach, sand whiting at the mouth of Coochin and Hussey Creeks, flathead and chopper tailor in Pumicestone Passage and mud crabs in the creeks.

Donnybrook

Flathead along the drop offs, sand whiting at the mouth of the creeks, sand crabs off Toorbul and mud crabs in the creeks.

Bribie Island

Diver whiting on the Cockle Banks, flathead and whiting on the making tide at Sandstone Point, snapper around Cooks Rocks, bream and grunter bream at the mouth of Ningi Creek, sand whiting at White Patch, squid at night under the Bribie Island Bridge and mud crabs in the creeks.

Northern Moreton Bay

Diver whiting from Deception Bay to the Cockle Banks, snapper and grunter bream early morning on Scarborough Reef and bream, flathead, whiting and mud crabs in the Caboolture and Pine Rivers.

Redcliffe Peninsula

Snapper, bream, grunter bream and school jew on the inshores, school mackerel and tailor around the Woody Point jetty, bream, flathead, whiting and grunter bream in the Pine River, bream, flathead and grunter bream in Newport canals and sand crabs in Bramble Bay.

Brisbane River – Northern Moreton Bay

Snapper, threadfin salmon and mulloway in the lower reaches of the Brisbane River and mud crabs in the creeks.

Moreton Bay Offshore

Snapper and tuskfish on the 29s and mahi mahi around the FADs.

Wynnum Manly

School mackerel between Green and King Islands, flathead on Lota flats, squid along Wynnum Manly foreshores and mud crabs in the creeks.

Nth Stradbroke Island

Fishing Main Beach has been hard going due to strong winds and a solid swell. You could try for bream, whiting and chopper tailor around Amity Point and Dunwich.

Redland Bay

Snapper at Square Patch and Harry Atkinson artificial reef, spanish mackerel at the Group, school mackerel on the Hope Banks, mulloway in the lower reaches of the Brisbane River and tailor on top of the tide at Cleveland Point.

Snapper early morning around Goat and Peel Islands and flathead in Canaipa Passage.

Jumpinpin

Tailor inside the Pin Bar, mulloway at the entrance to Swan Bay, bream in Jacobs Well Channel and mud crabs in the creeks.

Southport

Pearl perch, tuskfish, yellowtail king and mahi mahi on the 50s and 36s, longtail tuna, spanish and spotty mackerel on the 12s, 18s and 24s, trevally, tailor, mackerel, yellowtail king and mulloway in Southport Seaway, quality sea bream along the beaches, sand whiting, trevally, queenfish and sand crabs in Southport Broadwater and mud crabs in the rivers and creeks.

Blue marlin on the Continental Shelf, bar cod and flame snapper on the deep reefs and flathead, tailor and bream in Southport Broadwater.

Tweed Coast

Flathead, bream and school jew on the tide changes in the middle reaches of the Tweed River.

Tuskfish, snapper, spanish mackerel and wahoo on the 24s east of the Tweed.

Evans Head

Bream and school jew along Airforce and Main Beaches, bream and luderick along the rock walls at the Evans River mouth, bream, flathead and whiting in the lower reaches and mud crabs in the upper reaches.

FRESHWATER FISHING

Boondooma Dam

Bass early morning on jackalls along the Narrows, on blades and ice jigs around the Junction and on trolled deep divers near the Barbers Pole.

Bjelke Petersen Dam

Bass and golden perch on trolled hard bodies around the Wineries and Bass Point and bass on blades and ice jigs fished close to the bottom.

Lake Samsonvale

Bass on trolled hard bodies in the kayak area.

Hinze Dam

Bass located with sounder on vibes and metal jigs bounced along the bottom in the bays.

Wivenhoe Dam

Bass on lipless crank baits around the buoy line, the Humps and Billies Bay and on hard bodies trolled to 20 feet near Platypus Cliffs.

Moogerah Dam

Bass early morning on small soft plastics rigged on heavy jig head slow rolled along the bottom at the Spit, during the day on lipless crank baits close to the timbered edges and on crank baits in about 3 metres in the upper reaches.

Maroon Dam

Bass at dawn and dusk on small surface poppers close to the timbered edges, during the day on dark coloured deep diving crank baits along the edges in the creek arm and on lipless crank baits and small soft plastics around the rocky edges near the dam wall.
