Hervey Bay

Grassy sweetlip, snapper, nannygai and cod on the inshore reefs, longtail and mack tuna in Platypus Bay, queenfish, flathead, school mackerel, longtail and mack tuna off the Urangan jetty, barramundi and threadfin salmon in the lower reaches of the rivers, sand crabs in the western bay and mud crabs in the creeks.

Tin Can Bay

Flathead in the exposed drains in the Bay and Inlet, sand whiting on top of the tide in the clean water at the mouth of Kauri Creek and barramundi and mud crabs in the creeks. Please note that the Bay-to-Bay Yacht Race is being held tomorrow from 10 a.m.  Boats will be cruising from Tin Can Bay to Hervey Bay.  Please don’t fish in the channels so as to restrict their safe passage.

Moogerah Dam

Bass early morning on small soft plastics rigged on heavy jig head slow rolled along the bottom at the Spit, during the day on lipless crank baits close to the timbered edges and on crank baits in about 3 metres in the upper reaches.

Maroon Dam

Bass at dawn and dusk on small surface poppers close to the timbered edges, during the day on dark coloured deep diving crank baits along the edges in the creek arm and on lipless crank baits and small soft plastics around the rocky edges near the dam wall.
