Hervey Bay

Coral trout, red emperor, snapper and nannygai in the Gutters, snapper on the inshore reefs, grunter bream, whiting and grunter bream in Sandy Straits, sand whiting on the making tide along the beaches from Burrum Heads to Urangan, flathead, bream, tailor, school mackerel and longtail tuna off the Urangan jetty and banana prawns in the rivers.

Fraser Island

Tailor, bream, flathead, whiting and mulloway along the surf beaches and flathead at the mouth of the creeks on the western side of the island. Caution is required when driving along the eastern beaches, recent big swell and tides have caused erosion and rocks are exposed. Travelling on low tide would be safest.
