South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

A ridge of high pressure will extend a general east to northeasterly wind flow over Gulf of Carpentaria waters through the remainder of today and Friday. The ridge should then weaken over the weekend. A weak monsoon trough lies over the northern Arafura Sea and is moving closer to the north coast of the Top End. There are no indications as yet that the monsoon trough will extend into Gulf of Carpentaria waters during the forecast period.
