Gold Coast Waters: Cape Moreton to Point Danger

A coastal trough will move north through southern Queensland waters today, most likely reaching northern Sunshine Coast waters this evening and then becoming slow moving. The trough will then likely weaken while slipping southwards during Wednesday. Another surface trough should then move eastwards into the southeastern interior of the state on Thursday with fresh to strong northerly winds developing over southern waters.

Winds North of Point Lookout: North to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching 25 knots offshore in the morning. Winds tending southeasterly 10 to 15 knots from the south in the afternoon and reaching up to 20 knots at times until the evening. South of Point Lookout: Variable about 10 knots inshore, tending north to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots offshore. Winds shifting south to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots from the south during the morning and tending southeasterly in the afternoon.
Seas 1 to 2 metres.
Swell Northerly below 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore around midday.
