A high pressure system over northeastern New South Wales maintains a weak pressure gradient and light winds over southern Queensland waters. Winds will gradually tend more northwesterly through Wednesday ahead of a surface trough and an associated moderate to possibly fresh southerly wind change that will move northwards through southern Queensland waters on Thursday.
